Dog owners... You are doing something right by living in Las Vegas. The Entertainment Capital of the World has ranked as one of the top dog-friendly cities to walk your dog in.

January is national "Walk Your Dog Month" so let's find out what makes walking your dog in Vegas so great.

First off, dogs are an important part of their owners life as they provide unconditional love and support no matter the case. Even with the stereotypical "party lifestyle" Vegas is known for, we have prepared our city for our four-legged family members. Is there room for improvement? Of course, but let's give credit where credit is due.

Our friends at LawnStarter.com examined 200 U.S. cities over four key categories including: walkability, safety, pup-friendly trail access and professional dog walking accessibility.

Secondly, Vegas ranked in 3rd for "Most Friendly Dog Walkers" behind, Miami and Orlando, Florida. This data was concluded from most dog walkers per 100,000 residents. New York, NY ranked worst for this category.

Our neighbors of Portland, Oregon, ranked first for "Most Dog-Friendly Trails." With Oregon's average weather hitting mid 80s and the excess greenery that Vegas lacks it makes sense why they topped the list.

Ontario, California ranked worst for this category so if you live there and are looking to take your pet on a trail walk you might want to look elsewhere.

Lawnstarter concludes that out of the top 10 cities, eight are found on the west coast. The saying, the grass is greener on the other side is looking to be more and more true.

Cities that ranked high in average scores are looked to be better suited for dog-walking where cities with lower average scores are looked to be not as suited for dog-walking.

Dog-friendly cities like Vegas want the best for their pets. With great admiration, San Francisco, CA, ranks the top location for dog-walking with an overall score of 59.80.

Here are the Silver States' scores: You can find the full article here.

Overall: 49.52

Quality: 51

Safety: 125

Pup-Friendly Trail Access: 6

Professional Dog Walking Accessibility: 3

9 Dog-Friendly Restaurants In Las Vegas

Las Vegas is full of expensive break-the-bank restaurants, mom and pop shops and small local eateries. Being a pet owner, the question that always comes up is, "Can I bring my dog?" Finding a restaurant that not only seats people but our furry companions can be troublesome. Vegas, Henderson and the other surrounding cities are very pet friendly with dog oriented parks and pet businesses catered just for dog owners.

As cliché as it sounds, "Dog is man's best friend" first said by Frederick, King of Prussia, is actually true. Pets can't speak human but they know what we are saying when we communicate to them. They are an essential part of the family as if they were a brother, sister, cousin or uncle. For a lot of us, our pets are the first thing we see in the morning and the first ones to welcome us home from a long day of work.

We take care of our dogs as if they were a baby. We feed them, wash them, take them for a "w-a-l-k", cuddle them and make sure they are up to date on all of their shots. It's our responsibility as a dog owner to provide the best life that we can give to our pets. After all, pets give us something that is so valuable it's priceless. What is it you ask? Their unconditional love.

We scoured the internet looking for dog friendly restaurants and cafes that welcome our furry four-legged friends with open arms. We can report back knowing that we have found nine locations with great staff and great plate options. The best part is that most to all of them have outdoor seating or an open patio. Bring your doggo's water bowl as many of the restaurants will fill it with water. We hope you and your dog enjoy the best lunch ever.
