Landmarks That Ended Up Disappointing You

Where is the one place that you've gone that ended up being a disappointment? You've heard all the hype of this or that landmark...you have to go and check it out. So you take the time, plan it all out and it ends up being a huge disappointment. That's why The Mike & Carla Morning Show brought this up. M&C's producer Morty had heard all about Whataburger...not considered a "landmark", but nonetheless, Morty had heard how great it was and he just had to have one! So, while in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago, he did just that and came back asking, "Whataburger, what's all the hype about?"

Morty did say, it was a good burger, but after all the hype about how fantastic burger was from Whataburger, he was like, "it's was good, but...", so that's where we started on The M&C Morning Show. We wanted to know the last time you were underwhelmed?

Carla Rea had mention the Grand Canyon and Mt. Rushmore as two places she had been upon arriving, looked down and looked up to think, "that's it?" Mike O'Brian had also mentioned the Grand Canyon as fine, although he didn't know what to expect, but it was like, "wow, it's the biggest hole ever!"

With all that said, that's where M&C wanted to know, for you, the last place you went only to be underwhelmed after hearing all the hype. One other place Mike mentioned Plymouth Rock in Boston...it turned out to be this graffitied ridden little rock in a hole surrounded by an iron gate. With high expectations, Mike was more that a little dissappointed to find out that this was the famous Plymouth Rock where this country started.

Some listeners mentioned The Alamo that evidently is now between a Sears and Walgreen's in Houston. Others mention the OK Corral in Arizona, as well as the White House! The guy did say that as impressive as the White House is from the outside, you go in and there are just all little rooms and it smells a bit old!

Well, take a few minutes and tell us the last place you went and after hearing all the hype, you were just a bit disappointed...and enjoy!
