What is the absolute best wedding reception you have ever been to?

If you live long enough, you end up attending quite a few weddings during your lifetime. Some are romantic, some are fun, and some are memorable. Sure, some are none of those things, but we're focusing on the best wedding reception you've ever attended.

The reason I ask is that over the New Year's weekend, one of my buddies and former teammates on our hockey team was back in town to attend his son's wedding. In fact, his son is a good friend and used to play on our hockey team too. But, back to the point at hand. The Dad in this story now resides in Long Beach on Long Island, New York. A little over six years ago, a bunch of us from the hockey team went to his wedding and reception, and when we all got together this past weekend, we were reminiscing about how incredible their wedding reception was.

First of all, their wedding was on the beach. Sure, it sprinkled rain a little bit during the ceremony, but that didn't put a damper on the proceedings. There were about one hundred guests at this wedding reception, and it was held at a very nice country club on the beach. The thing you have to know about our buddy, the guy who got married, is that he loves food. No, I mean LOVES food. And that's what made this wedding reception so memorable, because I love food too.

The afternoon started off with chilled lobster claws, king crab legs, clams on the half shell, and shrimp cocktail. It was practically raining shell fish! I filled up on these seafood delights because I did not know that our buddy and his new wife had planned a seven course continuous buffet for all of their guests!

I don't remember the exact order of all the different items the wait staff brought out for us, but I remember a deli bar with all sorts of cold cuts, including roast beef, turkey and ham. I remember a taco and burrito bar. I remember a pasta bar. I remember an amazing variety of desserts along with the wedding cake. There were a couple of other courses mixed in during the afternoon, but I think I was in a food coma for an hour or two and missed them. To top it all off, the newlyweds also hosted an open bar throughout the entire five hour wedding reception!

I don't know how much that amazing feast set this couple back, but it is surely a wedding and wedding reception none of the people who attended will ever forget. It was great to see them this past weekend and reminisce about that happy occasion. It was also nice to see his son marry a very nice young woman while here in Las Vegas. Congratulations to all!

Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants 2022; See Which Vegas Restaurant Ranks 99

Whether you call yourself a "foodie" or a person who just likes to eat... This is going to be of interest to you. We have waited with anticipation for the return of Yelp's 9th Annual Top 100 Restaurants 2022 article.

People from across the U.S. rated their go-to spots to grab a bite to eat and Yelp organized them into one list. No matter the circumstance people are still eating out and/or ordering in their favorite meals.

Three Nevada restaurants have ranked and let's be honest, we want to find out who they are.

Coming in at number eight, The Goodwich, located in the Arts District at 900 S Las Vegas Blvd, Unit 120, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. Fans have coined the quaint shop as one of the best places to grab a tasty sandwich and unwind. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients and their house made chips are a must-try. The prices tend to lean a little higher but the ingredients make up for it. If you're a fan of pickles their menu features a hot and spicy pickle. Definitely worth a try! The secret to their success is their "STACKED-RITE" method of layering their sandwiches. They started back in 2014 in the parking lot of Dino's, one of Las Vegas' oldest bars.

Recommended: G.W. Patty Melt: Ground Beef, smoked cream cheese, onion, pepper jack and marble rye - $14

Coming in at number 99, Dolce & Chianti, located at 4275 S Durango Dr, Unit 100, Las Vegas, NV 89147. This Italian restaurant serves great tasting food dishes that keep their customers coming back for more. If you're into pesto and seafood, you have to check out their Tagliatelle Con Pesto E Gamberoni. Regulars are obsessed with the atmosphere and ambiance that comes with dining in. The restaurant often has LIVE performances on the weekends. The Italian hotspot hosts a fun-filled Sunday Brunch, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which features "topless" and bottomless mimosas. The restaurant started out in Washington and we are happy they made the decision to open in the Entertainment Capital of The World.

Recommended: The Calamari Fritti: Crispy calamari served with spicy marinara sauce & wedge of lemon - $19

Not Las Vegas based but a Reno, Nevada restaurant, Food+Drink placed 12 on the list.

Congratulations to The Goodwich, Dolce & Chianti and Food+Drink for placing in the TOP 100 restaurants in the U.S. for 2022.
