It is always nice to hear a heartwarming story during this time of year, and one elderly Walmart employee received an incredible holiday gift from the social media community.
According to articles by Emily Rella on Entrepreneur.com and one by the staff at SunnySkyz.com, 82-year-old Carmen Kelly was working in an Arizona Walmart recently, when a shopper named Elizabeth Rizzo noticed that Kelly was performing her duties while using a cane. Rizzo asked Kelly why she didn't sit down every now and then, and found out that Walmart employees are not allowed to sit down during their shifts. Then Rizzo asked Kelly why she was still working during her "golden years." Well, Kelly had just received a ten thousand dollar medical bill, and only had fifty bucks in the bank, so she got the job at her local Walmart.
Elizabeth Rizzo decided to post a video of Carmen Kelly at work on social media sites like Tiktok and GoFundMe to help her neighbor pay those medical bills. The goal: to raise $10,000. The video went viral and has been viewed over 15 million times. By last Thursday, the GoFundMe account had raised a hefty $130,000! Now if that isn't a heartwarming holiday gift, I don't know what is.
Rizzo shared this amazing news with the hard-working Kelly over the weekend, and Carmen was overjoyed. Rella's article on Entrepreneur.com quotes Carmen Kelly telling her new friend Elizabeth Rizzo: "I could never, ever repay you and thank you. You're changing my whole life and I just feel like God sent you to me."
In an updated video we find out that Kelly's family will be employing a team of financial advisors and putting the funds in a trust. What an amazing Christmas gift! Will Carmen Kelly retire from her Walmart job? She's not sure yet, but she sure hopes so.

TikTok Is The Most Popular Site On The Planet, Overtakes Google
TikTok has dethroned Google to become the world’s most visited website, new data has revealed.
Per The Independent, the viral video app ended the search engine’s dominance, which had seen it rank as the most popular domain for all of 2020 and the first part of 2021.
Google.com – which includes Docs, Calendar, Maps, Translate, Photos, Flights, News and more – was unable to compete with the budding social app, which now counts more than 1 billion active users around the world. TikTok.com also overtook Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft and Netflix -- all of which ranked above it last year.
One of the more obvious reasons for users flocking to TikTok this year has been the Covid-19 pandemic, which has forced people to spend more time indoors and away from real-life social gatherings. These online browsing patterns continued even when lockdown restrictions came to an end, with “the summer of freedom” creating an opportunity for users to refresh and update their social media accounts.
