The weather got so bad that those people were forced to abandon their vehicles and seek shelter. Most weren't lucky because there wasn't any locations near them. Some were very lucky!
40 people, including children found refuge in the Bear Inn, near Burwash. The Inn provided food, drinks, and warmth by fire for the people, who were forced to stay overnight. The inn even laid out mattresses for children to sleep on.
Many of the people said this is the worst they've ever seen the weather get. One of the people there was Dr. Loske, who said it was scary on the roadways. Peoples cars were sliding all over the place. People losing control. She, like many other abandoned her vehicle and headed to the Bear Inn.
