If you're planning on using tinsel on your Christmas tree this holiday season, safety experts are warning to use with caution! The Mike & Carla Morning Show thought it was odd that tinsel at all was in the conversation. Of course, tinsel comes in all shapes and sizes, however, we're talking about those thin silver stands of tinsel that we all grew up with.

As kids we all remember putting tinsel on the Christmas tree, but depending on your parents, it had  to be done a certain way. Some would say that doing it strand by strand is the only way to go...but other families would let their kids just take a handful throwing it up on the tree to make it look more natural!

Whatever the case might be, is tinsel out of style now? Have you tried to buy a box of it lately? Well, one listener told us that she had to buy a box through Amazon and it was a little more pricy than she remembers.

The other problem facing tinsel was that once you brought it into your home, threw it on the tree, it never seemed to leave! It was everywhere...in every nook and cranny! Even if you try to vacuum the stuff up, it causes even more problems.

But now that you find out that it could actually be a fire hazard along with your real tree itself, maybe there's a reason that tinsel faded away as it did. It seems that what they made tinsel with was more of a concern than it just getting stuck in the vacuum!

Whatever the case maybe, check out the segment from this morning and let us know if you are still pro or against the use of tinsel in your home during the holidays...and enjoy!
