Holiday-Themed Names: You Named Your Kid 'Eggnog'?

There are some people that are so totally into Christmas, they pass it down through generation through generation. The reason The Mike & Carla Morning Show bring this up is because at some point you have to ask, "Seriously, is that what your parents named you?"

With that said, according to an article publish in the Mirror, there is a site called "Find My Past" and it went through over 14 billion documents from the past 500 years...you read right, over 500 years looking for people with HOLIDAY- themed names. Now it was found that most common was name is "Ivy". Which seems quite normal when you think about it. We all know an Ivy or have at least have met an Ivy at some point during our lives. Okay, so "Poison Ivy" is about the only famous "Ivy" we can think of, but you get it right?

On the flipside, at least 3,200 kids have been named "Reindeer," 579 have been named "Snowman," and they found 23 people named "Eggnog." Now keep in mind that this is going back over 500 years! Still doesn't make any sense does it?

But do you really name your kid "Eggnog?" Life is tough enough without having a "holiday-themed" name, but you go to school and during roll call "Eggnog" comes up and there you are raising your hand saying "HERE"! You know right off the bat that it's going to be a rough school year!

"Angel" also seemed to be a very popular "holiday-themed" name according to the research...followed by "Present", "Holly" and rounding out the Top 5 is "Star" But not to be out done, over 300,000 babies have left the hospital with the name "Wine"! Not enough to crack the Top 5, but just enough to be in the Top 10 of those "holiday-themed" names that have gone over the top!

...and over 25,000 kids have lead a semi normal life with the first name of "Turkey"! But no matter, "Ivy" might be #1, but we still think "Eggnog" takes the Christmas cake when it comes to "holiday-themed" names...just one of the items in M&C's segment of "A Few Things We Think You Should Know"!
