When Matthew Perry filmed “Friends” he said in his books and interviews that time of his life wasn’t the greatest. He’s mentioned that he can’t watch the episodes of the show because of the reminder of those times. It had nothing to do with the show or his co-stars, but the timing. He want’s to change that! He’s avoided watching it for years!

In his memoir, “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing”, he said, “I can’t watch the show, because I was brutally thin and being beaten down by the disease.” He also states, “I didn’t watch the show and haven’t watched the show because I could go, ‘Drinking. Opiates. Drinking. Cocaine.”

He mentions that he could tell the seasons by the way he looked and that’s why he won’t watch it.  But now he says, “I think I’m going to start to watch it.”
