Axl rose has done his mic toss during his shows for years! At a recent show, he did his mic toss into the crowd, but ended up injuring a fan! The woman ended up getting hit in her face and got a black eye. Axl said in a recent interview that he will retire the tradition "in the interest of public safety" he said.

Rose tweeted out, "If true obviously we don't want anyone getting hurt or to somehow in anyway hurt anyone at any of our shows anywhere." Axl has been mic tossing for over 30 years and it's shocking that no one has been injured in that time. Or people have been injured and never said a word. The 80's were a whole different animal with live shows, so it is possible. But the woman in Australia who was injured was the first to speak up. She's fine, but the band will not be tossing microphones or anything out to the crowd for their safety.

Rebecca Howe is the woman's name who was injured at the show in Australia on November 29th. She left with two black eyes and bloody nose. She said, "If my head was turned and it hit me in the temple, it could have killed me." Axl wrote in his statement, "Negative n' irresponsible" is how some news outlets framed the incident.
