Birthday Boy Billy Idol Talks About ‘Boots & Scarves’ Parties
Celebrating a birthday today is Billy Idol turning 67 today…so The Mike & Carla Morning Show thought it only proper to replay Billy talking about his infamous “Boots & Scarves” parties he used to host back in the 80s!
Known to family and friends as William Michael Albert Broad, Billy was born in London, England and quickly rose through the ranks of the punk rock scene in Great Britain with his band ‘Chelsea’ before moving on and starting ‘Generation X’. As much as it seemed to come together with his new band, Billy decided to head out on his own in 1981 and that’s when it all started to happen.
One hit after another…“Dancing With Myself”, “White Wedding”, “Eyes Without A Face” and the list goes on. Billy Idol also had the advantage of MTV and was one of the most popular artist on the new network!
