St Jude's Ranch For Children recently announced its December line-up of holiday events.

The holidays can be a magical time of year. But that's not always the case for some. For children who are victims of abuse or human trafficking, Christmastime could be pretty bleak. St. Jude's Ranch for Children is working hard to make sure these kids know they are cared about and remembered.

This year, St. Jude's Ranch has a series of events that the community can get involved with and participate in to help make this year special for children in foster care. And they are inviting all to come participate in the spirit of giving.

St Jude's BADGES AND BOWS

Stop by the Walmart Centennial location this weekend, and you can easily donate a gift to a child in need. From 8am to 4pm on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4, at 8060 West Tropical Parkway. Santa Claus will be out there along with his friends and some refreshments. Santa and friends are from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Department of Corrections. So look for the Santa in the blue suit!

On your way in, the LVMPD members will hand you a card with information for a child in need. Take it in with you to the store and grab the gift while you shop. The volunteers will be waiting on your way out to pick it up. It's a super easy way to donate a toy for children living in foster care and homeless youth and their families.

St Jude's NIGHT OF LIGHTS

Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 10! From 5-8pm, bring your family to the St. Jude's Ranch For Children campus in Boulder City. You will see a holiday celebration for the youth living at the facility. There will be entertainment, decorations, s'mores, arts and crafts and more. And, of course, Santa will be there!

The campus will be lit up like a festive wonderland with thousands of colorful holiday lights. Trees with sparkling ornaments, strolling holiday carolers, and plenty of photo ops! Grab an all-inclusive wristband for just $10 and get into the holiday spirit while helping this amazing non-profit organization.

Christina Vela, CEO of St. Jude's Ranch for Children, was a guest on Talking Solutions this week to tell us all about these events, and a few more. She also talked about the programs the organization offers, and gave an update on the forthcoming Healing Center.

Thank You For Helping Mike & Carla Buy Salvation Army’s Angel Tree

It's the season if giving at 96.3 KKLZ

This holiday season, you can make a difference by helping Mike and Carla buy the Salvation Army's Angel Tree!

The dates to drop off toys or picked up tags has passed. However, 2022 is not over yet, and you can still make a difference in a child's life through a few ways. The Mike & Carla Morning Show's Angel Tree can still "grow" even after the official event is over. If you were unable to come into our radio station, you can still spread some holiday merry magic by making a monetary contribution. 96.3 KKLZ and The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada have teamed up for a second year to bring joy this holiday season. We know times can be tough for many families and we want to make their festive season a little brighter.

Below we cover how the The Angel Tree works, where the toys go and different resources for The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada.

Thank you, again, for helping us give back. We couldn't do it without you.

What is the Salvation Army's Angel Tree?

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas and holiday gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year, according to the organization's website.

Salvation Army acquires the necessary information to then create wish lists for their Angel Tree families. And then it becomes our mission to help buy the toys and fun stuff on the wish lists.
