George Herman Ruth, or as the world knows him, Babe Ruth gifted one of his light weight gloves to Jimmy Austin. Austin played for the St. Louis Browns. The glove stayed in Austin’s family for decades….until now.

The Babe Ruth glove was sent to the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory auction recently and sold for a record breaking $1.5 Million Dollars!  That’s is the highest anyone has paid for a baseball glove in auction history.

While the world will want to know who paid that much for it, it may take a while because the new owner wanted to remain anonymous. They say many more baseball memorabilia will be auctioned at higher prices than what the Ruth glove sold for, but as far as gloves from a certain player, they don’t expect any to go higher anytime soon!
