If Oakland A’s Move, They Have A Temporary Home
Still not a done deal, but if the Oakland A’s do make the move to Las Vegas, they already have their eyes on a temporary home! The Mike & Carla Morning Show started talking about the possibility of where the Major League Baseball team will play right now if they were to make the move.
Reports have it that they would reside out at Las Vegas Ballpark…home of the Aviators! According to a recent article by Mick Akers of the Review Journal, mentions that after this past weekend, the chances of a new stadium in Oakland are fading quickly and the move to Las Vegas is even more optimistic than before.
However, the question of where the A’s would play, let’s say they move next season, is the big dilemma right now…but the rumor is that the current answer would be our local baseball park out in Summerlin. Now the Las Vegas Ballpark only holds a little over 10,000 fans, plus seating outside suites on the plazas at either end of the upper deck…still way less than a major league facility.
Whatever has to be worked out, it seems those of us that live in Las Vegas would love to have a Major League franchise in our own backyard…even if they need to play in a Triple A facility. That was the tone of calls and texts into The M&C Morning Show, although an expansion team would also be a a nice add to the Las Vegas market. Either way, we’ll take what we can get right now.
Although, a lot of the people commenting this morning said that a site for a new ballpark would be better suited away from the Strip…let’s see if that happens. Clearly there are a few more details to workout if indeed this happens, but we will keep you posted!
