If You’re a Dragon (Yes, A Dragon) Las Vegas Is The City For You – If Not, BEWARE!
Still reeling after the House of the Dragon finale? Well then you might not like this – Las Vegas is one of the most dangerous cities to be in a dragon attack! But, if you’re a dragon – it’s definitely the city to be a dragon in! Which is probably evident if you’re on the strip and just take a look around.
The team at Shane Co. researched all the factors that help and hurt the life of a dragon. From basements for humans to hide in, to treasure hotspots, they considered it all, and it’s quite a list:
-
Number of Fire Departments per Capita
-
Population Density
-
Nearby Aviation Facilities
-
Pawn Shops
-
Jewelry Stores
-
Physically Inactive Population percentage
-
Elevation
-
Search Interest for Dragons
-
Number of Cattle per Capita (hmm…)
-
Number of Military Bases by State
-
Parkland Coverage
-
Homes Listed with a Basement per Capita
-
Greenhouse Gas Emissions per Acre
-
Land Area Covered by Water by State
-
Highest Peak by State
They determined each city’s score from the total of those 15 ranking factor scores, which were weighted according to their impact on “dragon livability.” They added those up and gave each city a score from 0 to 100. Here’s what they found:
- Of the top 100 metro areas, Las Vegas ranks #2 for most dangerous if dragons are feeling vengeful — but, you’re a dragon, we have a high dragon quality of life score of 70.29 out of 100!
- According to this very scientific research, American dragons would flock to mountainous regions of the Western U.S. where they have plenty of space to roam and high peaks for them to hide out, and roost.
- Albuquerque, NM (70.55) is the #1 most dangerous spot (or best city to be a dragon), followed by Las Vegas, NV (70.29); Provo, UT (67.17); Boise, ID (64.82); and Honolulu, HI (64.69).
- Indianapolis, IN (35.80) is the #1 safest city in a dragon attack. Lower elevations, fewer food sources, and nothing to hoard would have a dragon packing up and flying west. Philadelphia, PA (38.30) with its crowded skies from 26 aviation facilities, ranks second best, followed by Columbia, SC (41.10), Wilmington, NC (41.20), and Augusta, GA (41.40).
If you’re a dragon, or trying your best to avoid them, here is the full study – and it’s hella fun!
