Do we all know what happens to a majority of the tip we leave behind after enjoying a nice dinner and great service? The Mike & Carla Morning Showwas encouraged to talk about “tipping” ettique tips this morning, especially living in a city like Las Vegas.
A lot of don’t realize that the tip left behind is split between 4-5 people sometimes, it’s being taxed, so the original server helping you at your table doesn’t really get all that you think he or she does. The M&C Morning Show also got calls on other “hospitality” services other than food servers and bartenders…one guy called in regards to being a limo driver and besides filling up the limo with water, soda, liquor and beer, he only works on tips!
The other part of this topic got us into “to go” orders and what should we be tipping when picking up an order from our favorite restaurant? That’s why The M&C Morning Show wanted to know how much the “tipping” landscape has changed over the past 10-15 years in Las Vegas.
We wanted to talk to those both in the industry and those that have worked in the business…it was quite the learning experience this morning. In fact, listeners were texting in voicing their lack of knowledge on all that goes on with a tip! Including the fact that if you give a specific employee a tip personally and they don’t put it in the bucket or report it, they could get fired for “stealing”! Gotta admit, The M&C Morning Show was SHOCKED (shocked) to hear this.
Whatever the case, if you are new to Las Vegas and want to know the dos and don’ts of “tipping” in our great city, this is one segment you might want to listen to! Thanks to everyone for calling in as well as taking the time to text in on this segment…enjoy!
11 Las Vegas Restaurants Featured On Diner's Drive-Ins And Dives
Are you hungry? Whether you’re a Vegas local or a tourist visiting the city, there are plenty of delicious restaurants that can cure your hunger. Vegas may be known for gambling but we have some of the best world-renowned chefs, tasty menu items, and homey mom and pop shops. The valley offers more than what meets the eye. From drippy barbecue ribs to light and fluffy crepes, the restaurant scene in Las Vegas offers food options for anyone and everyone.
University of Nevada, Las Vegas alumnus and restauranter, Guy Fieri, is known for making food feel welcomed in homes across America on the Food Network. His hosting skills have landed him on many different tv shows including the famous Diner’s Drive-Ins And Dives. Fieri goes behind the scenes to eateries across the nation to taste test and get the origin story on why the locals keep coming back. Las Vegas restaurants have made not one, not two, but thirteen appearances on the show sharing the recipes, ingredients and must-try food plates. We are excited and proud to share with you restaurants that have made an impact not only in our community but across thousands of televisions across America.
We are sad to announce that two of the restaurants, Yayo Taco and Bachi Burger that were featured on the show have been shut down permanently. Yayo Taco served street-style “fusion” tacos that left hungry fans wanting the recipe to their “Adobe Mole Sauce.” Bachi Burger served Asian-style burgers which were rich in flavor profiles. The “Spicy Miso Burger” was a customer favorite.
Figuring out where to eat can be a challenge so we decided to make it easy for you. Instead of Google Mapping “restaurants” or “food near me” we put together a list of restaurants that were featured on Food Network‘s popular television show Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dives. So grab a fork and let’s chow down.
