Marty McFly and Doc Brown were controlling the space-time continuum again, and it was very touching, and emotional.
Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reunited Saturday in New York during a “Back to the Future” panel at New York Comic Con. When the two former costars met onstage, they greeted each other with a big hug, that got huge applause from the fans. At first Michael J. Fox was there by himself, taking a seat on the couch. Then he pops back up when Christopher Lloyd walks out, and gives him in a huge hug.
It’s an extremely touching moment (click here to watch), and you can tell it meant a lot to both of them – especially by the way Michael J. Fox went in for that hug. Afterward, they sat down and talked – going on, and telling old stories about the trilogy, but particularly about Part one – the classic!
In an interview with Female First, Michael J.Fox said that people don’t know that his mother didn’t want him to star in ”Back to the Future” (his mom passed away in September). He was 23 years old, and told his mom, ‘They want me to do this Steven Spielberg movie, but I have to do it at night, and do Family Ties in the daytime. She said, “You’ll be too tired.” I told her “I live for this kind of tired. It’ll be okay,’ To this day my mother thought it was a really bad idea for me to do Back to the Future. She loved the movie, but she was right – I got tired.”
Michael J. Fox said: “You guys have given me my whole life.” He spoke of his Parkinson’s – he said, “The best thing that happened in my life was this thing. Parkinson’s is a gift. – I’ve said to people it’s a gift and they say, ‘You’re nuts.’ I say, ‘Yeah, but it’s the gift that keeps on taking.’ But it’s a gift and I wouldn’t change it for anything … It’s not about what I have, it’s about what I’ve been given.”
FYI: There’s a Back To The Future Musical coming to Broadway next year. Here is the official trailer.
