LOOK: Vegas Police Car Gets Golden Knights Makeover

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department showed off its new ride this weekend. A LVMPD police car got a Vegas Golden Knights makeover, on the fifth anniversary of The Route 91 Harvest Festival massacre, the LVMPD Twitter page said. The accompanying quote read "She's a beauty. 5 years later, the @GoldenKnights continue to show us love on 1-October."

According to the tweet, the police car is now co-branded with the Vegas Golden Knights and residents of Las Vegas can expect to see the vehicle at various recruiting events throughout the city. The cruiser is decorated with the gold and black colors of the Vegas Golden Knights and proudly shows the "Vegas Born" logo across the doors. The "Vegas Strong" quote and a LVMPD police badge over a silhouette of Nevada adorns the hood. And a quote by VGK owner Bill Foley, "Protect the Unprotected" is shown on the side of the cruiser.

Fox5Vegas reported, "Las Vegas police say that the VGK-themed car 'helps show the community our hometown hockey team supports our local police department. This partnership is vital as LVMPD works to recruit diverse, qualified candidates for the position of police and corrections officer,' the department said in a news release."

Earlier in the day, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department also tweeted a video of the car's unveiling, with onlookers cheering and clapping along.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is encouraging anyone interested in employment with the department, to visit protectthecity.com. There you can get information about employment opportunities and apply for a position that interests you. There is also information about police correction and recruitment as well as information about what you'll learn if you choose to attend the Police Dispatcher Professional Academy.

According to their website, the LVMPD's vision is to be the safest community in America".

Our Vegas Golden Knights made six selections in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft took place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada last week.  They drafted four forwards, one defenseman and one goalie.  According to the Vegas Golden Knights official website on NHL.com, all of our latest draft picks are expected to be a part of the team's 2022 Development Camp which takes place at City National Arena this week, July 11-18th.  It is presented by Martin-Harris Construction.  If you'd like to check out the on-ice sessions, go for it because admission is FREE!
