Most people have emotional support dogs, cats, even pigs to help calm their nerves in situations and environments. Well a rookie police officer had none of those! He had an emotional support snail! The snail was named, Sid! Sid was an eight inch snail. Now Sid was not named by it’s owner. He was named by his owners co-workers, who were both bothered and skeptical about the whole thing.
Sid was brought to work at the Birmingham, Bournville Police Station, in a cardboard box with holes in it. In fact a former police chief heard of the situation was not to keen on it! And if you’re wondering why none of the officers filed a formal complaint, it was because they had just been trained on “wellness” policies.
The sad part about this whole situation was Sid ended up dying. And his owner was so distraught over the whole thing that he resigned from the police force!
