The 'Hack' Starbucks' Employees Are Not Happy About

There is a new "hack" customers at Starbucks are using and the employees are not happy about it! In fact, according to an article out of Newsweek, baristas nationwide are urging customers NOT to use it! The "hack" that's being used is all in the name of getting your favorite drink and saving a buck or two, but truth be told, it holds up the line and puts employees between a rock and a hard place with owners!

The Mike & Carla Morning Show brought this up in the wake of talking about "hot girl" who didn't want to "pay it forward" at her local Starbucks last week...and now this! The truth is, it's all about getting a Pumpkin Spice Latte for half-price...and although it might work, the baristas are now hip to it and have been for a while.

Here's how it works: It simply involves free add-ons that aren't supposed to add up to a full drink . . . like making a full latte from the free "splash of milk" option. This is where it puts the employee in a precarious position. If they decide to top-off the drink . . . because they know the customer is using a hack and expects a full cup . . . they get in trouble with management for "using too much product" for what was ordered. On the flipside, if they don't comply, you end up with an "allegedly" angry customer!

Either way, it's the general public trying to get something and NOT paying full price, while putting the employee in an awkward position...in the end, not a great situation. We also understand that a lot people think, if I cheat the system, what's a couple of bucks to a huge money-making company like the coffee serving giant? Probably not a lot, but in the end it doesn't land on the company as a whole, but that kid that's working there just trying to get through a shift as easy as possible...
