Steve Perry Suing Journey: Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain
Just when the rumors of Steve Perry possibly reuniting with Journey were starting to heat up (Most likely not happening), this happens! The Mike & Carla Morning Show talk about Steve Perry has filed the a petition against Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain. He says the two of them has registered 20 Journey tracks with Freedom JN LLC so they can sell merchandise like hats, jackets, paraphernalia, t-shirts and more! It even includes a movie! Perry says that them filing this back in 2020 has violated an agreement they made. All members need to know and give consent for each instance. Steve Perry is saying he had no prior knowledge of this and wants to sue over it.
This is same agreement Schon and Cain used to sue and eventually boot bassist Ross Valory and drummer Steve Smith from the group when the two of them tried to gain control of the business decisions of the band. So it’s obvious both Schon and Cain knew of the rules they needed to abide by as far as the agreement made with Perry.
The positive news out of all of this, Neil Schon said he would never rule out a Steve Perry return with the band for their 50th anniversary. Will it happen? Only time will tell!
