Was a brand new design for a "Reverse Retro 2.0" alternate jersey design for the Vegas Golden Knights leaked to the press over the Labor Day Weekend?
According to Owen Krepps on the website VegasHockeyNow.com, Twitter user Ali Murji leaked a photo of the new design on September 3. You can see a photo of the social media post by clicking here.
OK, now that you've taken the time to see the post and read the article, my first question would be: "Is this photo legit?" Krepps reports sources have confirmed that it is. If so, why is the new uniform photo-shopped on a picture of Alex Tuch, who now plays for the Buffalo Sabres?
If this is all true and the team is planning on retiring the inaugural gray jerseys and making the gold jerseys their home uniform, then my next question is: "Why?" Those gray jerseys were unique in the fact that no other team regularly wears that color. There are lots of black jerseys, red jerseys, and even gold/yellow jerseys. The Nashville Predators currently wear yellow, and teams like the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, and Pittsburgh Penguins have all recently worn gold or yellow jerseys.
I would agree with Mr. Krepps that there are some cool touches to the alleged "Reverse Retro" design you see in his post, but I can't say that I am a big fan of just seeing that retro-looking "Vegas" down the front of the jersey. Oh well, to each his own.
