After all these years, did you finally realize that you might have been that "bully" in school? Talking about this on The Mike & Carla Morning Show, Carla Rea brought up an old friend, who seems to be very, very nice, only to find out that growing up, she was the bully at school. Needless to say, Carla was "shocked" (shocked) to find this out which got M&C talking about just that!
Hopefully, if you were, you grew out of it, but you'd be surprised how many listeners came forward to admit that they were indeed that person in school who made fun of others and teasing those that were easy targets.
It turned out that it touched a nerve in a lot of listeners this morning...and made a lot of people think. You can tell by the texts that people sent in and a few of the phone calls M&C got this morning.
Overall, it was a healthy segment for listening to come clean, especially if it hit home personally. One caller said that, despite the fact she didn't think her jokes or song parodies in school making fun of others in school really ever bothered the other students until she and a friend were reminiscing about high school and one of her kids actually said something to her. In fact, he told her about getting bullied himself in school.
That is such a reality check right there...when your own kids bring it up to you...well, do yourself a favor and listen to the segment to see what affect it has on you. Whether you were the bully, knew a friend or a school mate who was a bully...and maybe, just maybe they have mellowed over the years. Whatever the situation, M&C thought it was very therapeutic this morning for a lot of listeners!
