Wedding traditions outdated

To celebrate the release of Mountain Dew’s newest boozy beverage in Nevada, Hard Mountain Dew is launching a promotional event of the most bizarre kind. The brand is asking fans to “propose” to a can of Hard Mountain Dew, with one winner receiving an actual Las Vegas wedding,

The wedding ceremony is going to take place right here in Las Vegas. The person that agrees to marry the can will receive travel and hotel accommodations, a wedding reception at a nightclub, free Hard Mountain Dew and $1,000 cash. Mountain Dew will also provide a $500  for a wedding gown or tuxedo.

You can enter for a chance to 'marry the can' by going to HardDewIDo and answering the questions:

-How did you know Hard Mountain Dew was the one for you? What makes you our one true love? Write us your proposal to ask for our hand in marriage.

Through Sept. 8, fans can express their love to the special soda on the “Hard Dew I Do” website for a chance at the Sin City celebration. “All eligible bachelors and bachelorettes will need to express their love and passion for HARD Mountain Dew in the form of an epically awesome proposal to be considered.”

A written confession of love can be posted to the contest’s website, if that sweet, sweet Baja Blast gives you all the feels. One winner and a “guest of honor” will receive the complimentary airfare, two nights’ hotel stay, a ceremony at The Little Las Vegas Chapel, a reception at a Las Vegas Club, and $1,000 as a “wedding gift.” And again, the brand will also throw in some Hard Mountain Dew for good measure - becasue you have to toast with something when you marry a can - right???

The best part? A lifetime of happiness -  to a can of Mountain Dew.
