He was dreaming that he was going to kill a goat so he could feed his family. Apparently the dream was so real to him, he grabbed a knife at his bedside, and proceeded to cut off his privates.
His wife said she got an adult diaper and put him in it to stop the bleeding. It seems like he will be just fine. Long road to recovery, but we're guessing he won't be keeping a knife near his bed anymore.
