Would You Wear A Ring He Bought For His Ex

Should it bother you that your boyfriend gave you an engagement ring that he gave his ex? From The M&C Mailbag, The Mike & Carla Morning Show talked about an email they got from a guy who didn't understand the big deal of giving his girlfriend an engagement ring that he had once given his ex! His former girlfriend called off the wedding, gave the engagement ring back and he thought it was a nice enough ring, why not give it to his current girlfriend?

While visiting her family, the guy proposed and handed his girlfriend the ring, that initially cost over $7000.00, and everyone was so excited! Both families celebrated the engagement and looking forward to what they all knew would be a huge wedding. However, her family later found out that the ring was once given to the guy's ex-fiancé and after calling off the wedding she returned it. So the guy kept the ring knowing that down the line, should he fall in love, he might be able to give to his "soulmate" once he found her.

Now here's where the plot thickens, as we mentioned before, her entire family knows the story behind the ring, however, the fiancé does NOT! So the original question M&C had for listeners was is it a big deal to give a girl an engagement ring that was actually meant for someone else?

A lot of listeners thought it was kind of bogus, however, surprisingly enough, most of the women that called in didn't have a problem with it. In fact, they had more of a problem with the fact that everyone else in the family knew the story behind the ring and she was the only one that didn't!

Now there were quite a few solutions to the the "ring" issue...re-setting the ring, adding another diamond, but the one thing that many listeners couldn't get over is that the guy wasn't honest with his fiancé from the beginning about the ring.
