Las Vegas Aces Host Mammovan Screening Event Wednesday, August 3
The Las Vegas Aces are one of the best teams in the WNBA. As of this writing, they are 22-8, and there’s no stopping them from another playoff spot. Now the Aces are joining another team: Nevada Health Centers for a special ‘Mammovan’ screening event.
The Mammovan screening event takes place at the Cambridge Family Health Center, 3900 Cambridge St, Wednesday, August 3. The center provides mammograms regardless of a woman’s ability to pay. The ‘Mammovan’ removes barriers for women without insurance or those with limited finances.
Each patient who receives a screening will receive a pair of tickets to the Aces game on Thursday, August 11, which is also the team’s breast health awareness night.
Mammograms are the most important tool doctors have to screen for breast cancer, and diagnose, evaluate, and follow people who’ve had breast cancer.
For women at average risk, screening mammograms should be performed annually beginning at age 40 to check for any early signs of breast cancer. If you have a higher risk of breast cancer, you and your doctor may decide that you will be start screening mammograms at a younger age.
If you are in need of a mammogram, and do not have health insurance, are in between jobs, or are with limited finances, PLEASE try to go to this screening event, Wednesday, August 3, so you have a baseline screening for yourself and your doctor in the future
And a HUGE thank you to the Las Vegas Aces for being such a wonderful addition to our community!
