It seems that the Hershey candy company is having problems handling the demand for candy as we get closer to Halloween. In fact they say if Hershey can't figure something out, there could indeed be a short of the sweet stuff come Halloween time! It seems that the situation in the Ukraine is the problem and causing kinks in the supply chain. Who knew? Higher dairy prices and ingredients are also a problem for the candy maker at this point in time.
On the other hand, would it really be that bad of a thing if we could not get our favorite candy for just one Halloween season? In a recent study, the results published in an article a couple of years ago from "Eat This or Not" , the Top 3 candy bars that are the worst for you to eat, not based on calories, but on the amount of sugar are as follows:
#1 3 Musketeers
#2 Milky Way
#3 Baby Ruth
Me personally, I love Snickers and was glad to see it didn't make the Top 5, but it did come in at #6. Now despite the great "candy scare" of 2022, Hershey says they are working on the problem and given they have plenty of time to figure something out, we all should be good come Halloween.
All in all, for those with a sweet tooth, this might not be the segment you listen to, but if you'd like to see the entire list of candy bars that aren't good for you and see where your favorite came in, then click HERE!
The Mike & Carla Morning Show also talked about Sprite no longer using "green" bottles, Mega Millions is up over a billion dollars at this point and M&C pointed out a few things you should actually do if you indeed win the big bucks...all that and much, much more in this edition of "A Few Things We Think You Should Know"!
