Just this radio girl's opinion: Las Vegas is for adults - BRING ON THE CURFEW!

I may be wrong, but if you're under 21 on Fremont, you're probably already up to no good. And why on earth are you pushing kids in strollers on the strip at 2am on weeknights??

A stricter curfew could be coming to Downtown Las Vegas. After recent shootings on Fremont Street, Mayor Carolyn Goodman said she is considering a nightly curfew for those under 21.

Mayor Goodman said, they need to have a family member responsible for them, and not just be up to no good, because we won't tolerate it. "Finished! Finished!” said Goodman. She said the recent gun violence has caused her to devote hours in meetings with Metro officers, city staff, and hotel partners in the downtown area to try and figure out ways to bring peace to downtown.

There definitely seems to be a consensus that a curfew for people under 21 is needed, but there are mixed feelings for those under 21, of course.

Many feel that a curfew would stop a lot of the crime that’s happening. Early morning on the July fourth, a person was shot after a fight took place on Fremont and 4th St. The 16-year-old involved will be charged as an adult, according to officials. On June 19, a 16-year-old suspect was arrested for shooting two victims at the Fremont Street Experience.

There is a curfew in place in the City of Las Vegas, but for those under 18. It is for 10 p.m. on weeknights, and midnight on weekends. On the Strip, the curfew is even stricter on weekends especially, at 9 p.m.
