It's National Donut Day - and who doesn't LOVE donuts?!

A recent poll found over 90% of Americans "like" or "love" donuts, and only 1% dislike them enough to use the word "hate." Shame on them!  According to the poll, our favorite types of donuts are glazed, Boston cream, and chocolate frosted.

A lot of donut places have deals today, including one popular place that's just GIVING free donuts away.  \

Here are some National Donut Day deals and promos for you to take a bite out of:

1.  You can get one free donut at Krispy Kreme today, no purchase necessary.  And not just regular old glazed.  They say you can choose any type of donut you want!

2.  Dunkin' Donuts is offering one free donut if you buy a drink.

3. Pinkbox - for anyone who buys a dozen doughnuts from any Pinkbox location, they'll receive a complimentary limited-edition t-shirt, while supplies last.

4.  7-Eleven has a buy-one-get-one donut deal all weekend for members of their loyalty program.

5.  And a bunch of Salvation Army locations around the U.S. are handing out donuts today.  A lot of people don't know it but The Salvation Army  actually STARTED National Donut Day in 1938. It was originally to honor their "Donut Lassies," who risked their lives to hand out donuts during World War Two. They also posted their original recipe for powdered sugar donuts online, so anyone can make them at home. YUM!!
