Def Leppard has been teasing new music all throughout the pandemic, and now they’re delivering. From their upcoming album, Diamond Star Halos, the legendary rock band has released another new single. Titled “Take What You Want“, the song is the second one released from the new album, which will be their 12th from the studio. The album is due to drop on May 27th of this year.

So what do we think? Well, it certainly has the driving guitar licks and drum beats we expect from Def Leppard. Plus, the signature sing-along style chorus is unmistakably these guys. Not sure though…feels a little…missing something. It doesn’t seem to have quite the punch their first single, Kick, did (oh man…should’ve said it didn’t have quite the kick! That was a missed opportunity). It might just be the newness of it compared with the longevity-infused love we have for their old stuff. Still, we’ll give it some time and let it grow on us.

In support of the new album, Def Leppard will be kicking off their summer tour on June 6, in Atlanta, Georgia. This Stadium Tour will be co-headlined with Motley Crue, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, and Poison.

Some fun facts about Diamond Star Halos: It is the first new music from the band since 2015. There are 15 tracks on the album. Famous singer/songwriter Alison Krauss appears on 2 of them. According to the band, who had the pandemic to record this and didn’t feel pressured under time demands, they poured themselves into these tracks. They say it’s a combination of classic spirit and modern fire!

Here’s audio of the new single. A video lyrical video is supposed to drop at the end of the month.

And in case you missed it, here’s the first single from the album. It’s called Kick and it comes with an official video….which is how we like it!

And since we mentioned it, here’s more info about that Stadium Tour that will land in Las Vegas in August.
