Clark County School District students, teachers, administrators, and staff, will be enjoying a hard-earned “Spring Break” vacation the second week of April.  In anticipation, we’re going to be checking out some of the biggest spring break “party jams” of the 80s on the Top 3 at 7 Countdown.  Here’s a sample of some of the great tunes you’ll be hearing as we proceed year-by-year through the MTV Decade!

An English progressive rock band who never tried to make a hit single ended up dominating the charts during the spring of 1980.

A song that still gets played at wedding receptions, post-game victories, birthday parties, anniversary parties and other family or group celebrations was a huge hit during springtime 1981.

The first all-female group to write their own songs and play their own instruments hit #1 with the album “Beauty & The Beat” during the spring of 1982.

During the spring of ’83, the best-selling album in history was dominating the charts, the airwaves, and spring break parties all over the USA!

One of the most iconic party songs of the decade was sending all the girls to the dance floor during spring break ’84.

We’ll check out more of these great Spring Break Party Jams during the latter half of the MTV Decade next week!  Do you have a favorite spring break memory?  If so, feel free to comment on our Facebook or Twitter pages.
