‘The Godfather’ Screening in Theaters in Honor of its 50th Anniversary

The Godfather celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and in honor of its golden anniversary, the iconic film is heading back to theaters.

Screening at select Dolby Cinemas at AMC Theaters on February 25, the 50th anniversary of The Godfather has been remastered in 4K ultra HD which can be previewed in the trailer below. The remastered version of The Godfather will also be released digitally on March 22.

In a statement, director Francis Ford Coppola said, "I am very proud of 'The Godfather,' which certainly defined the first third of my creative life. With this 50th anniversary tribute, I’m especially proud Mario Puzo’s 'THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone' is included, as it captures Mario and my original vision in definitively concluding our epic trilogy. It’s also gratifying to celebrate this milestone with Paramount alongside the wonderful fans who’ve loved it for decades, younger generations who still find it relevant today, and those who will discover it for the first time."

Tickets for the screening have yet to go on sale, but fans can keep an eye on AMCtheaters.com for updates.
