Steven Spielberg has been teasing the idea of a West Side Story remake for years. Now, it’s actually happening. Along the way, Spielberg picked up Tony Kushner (Angels in America) to help write the screenplay. Production started in 2018, but the pandemic delayed the release. There is a lot of buzz about the fresh faces cast by Spielberg. Including Rachel Zegler as Maria and Ansel Elgort as Tony. Ariana DeBose will play Anita, and David Alvarez is Bernardo. The trailer just dropped for the release this December. Check it out.
