Favorite Places in Nevada, from a native
Carla Rea via BMG Las VegasThe Historic Railroad Tunnels in Boulder City is one of my favorite hikes in Southern Nevada, and it's just minutes away from Las Vegas.
I love this hike, because anyone can do it. It's a trail hike - not a lot of climbing, unless you want to - and you can make it as long, or as short as you'd like. But - don't bail until you get through the tunnels!
It can be a bit brutal in the summer heat, but September through May/June, go for it!
Between the cool railroad history (signage will give you that), the views of Lake Mead, and the tunnels themselves (which will cool you off in the warmer months), it's one of the best!
