The Golden Knights’ game scheduled for Thursday against St. Louis has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, the NHL has announced.
A player and another member of Vegas’ coaching staff entered the league’s COVID protocols, according to a statement from the NHL.
“The decision was made by the League’s, NHLPA’s and Club’s medical groups after recent tests warranted more caution while the League continues to analyze test results in the coming days,” the statement reads: The Golden Knights’ training facilities have been closed and will stay closed until further notice.
League officials say they are working on making a decision for next week’s Golden Knights games within the next two days. The team is next scheduled to play the Sharks in San Jose on Monday and Wednesday.
Vegas played against St. Louis on Tuesday night with its entire coaching staff in quarantine, losing to the Blues 5-4 in a shootout.
General manager Kelly McCrimmon assumed head coaching duties for the game, with support from the Henderson Silver Knights’ coaching staff.
