Deepfake videos have taken the world by storm. And now it’s being used to show what John Travolta would have looked like as Forrest Gump. Many don’t know that Travolta was offered the role before it went to Tom Hanks. Travolta turned it down. So did Chevy Chase and Bill Murray. Now that the movie is an international success, Travolta admits it was a bad choice not to do it. Thanks to this DeepFake video, though, we don’t have to wonder anymore what it would have looked like if he hadn’t.

Of course, the script delivery is half of the acting, so there’s no telling what Travolta’s version of Gump would have sounded like, but here’s a peak of what it would have looked like.

More from movieweb.com. Do you think it would have been as big a success with Travolta in the lead role? Hard to say.
