First, it was Matthew McConaughey hosting virtual bingo for seniors, and now, Jon Bon Jovi has joined the video chat of a kindergarten class.
Per ABC affiliate WPBF, kindergarten teacher Michael Bonick got Bon Jovi to join his class’s video call recently because of an assignment where he asked his students to write about their lives while in quarantine. Bonick noticed his assignment was similar to a recent call to action from Bon Jovi who asked fans to submit lyrics to a new song called “Do What You Can.”
Bonick said, “A light bulb went off in my head and I said jeez that’s what we are teaching in kindergarten, that’s what we are doing as a writing assignment.”
Bonick then reached out to Bon Jovi’s reps, and the next thing he knew, JBJ was a special guest on the class’s video chat and adapting the writing assignments into song lyrics. Video of the class can be viewed through the link below.
Bon Jovi surprises local kindergarten online class amid COVID-19
A local kindergarten class had Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician Jon Bon Jovi join them on their Google meet to make some special songs. Michael Bonick is a kindergarten teacher at Marsh Pointe Elementary School and said a simple writing assignment ended with a legendary musician singing lyrics written by his own students.
