A school in North Las Vegas is the first school in the Clark County School District to report a case of COVID-19. Heard Elementary School is a magnet school in North Las Vegas.
The school informed parents Wednesday night that a member of the "school family" tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The school was deep cleaned and disinfected on Wednesday, but the school remains closed, like all schools in the CCSD.
Anyone who had close contact with the person, who the district did not identify in their letter, will be contacted by the Southern Nevada Health District.
