Halloween Tips and Tricks

The Thanksgiving Day parade is a big part of the tradition of the holiday.

There’s a grandness to every facet of the parade, which is why when things don’t go as planned, those flubs reach a whole new level.  That’s part of the beauty of a live event: Absolutely anything can happen!  With that in mind, here’s a selection of entertaining Thanksgiving Day parade fails.

Color Guard Member Wipes Out

This Georgia State University Marching Band color guard member was probably super excited about being in the front row when they were featured on the parade broadcast, and that excitement quickly faded when she wiped out on national television.

Cheerleader Lift Goes Awry

Even well-rehearsed lifts can not go as planned, and when that happens when you’re literally in the middle of the camera shot, it’s pretty hard not to notice.

Scotty McCreery Misses His Cue…

Most singers performing at the Thanksgiving Day Parade are lip-syncing. That’s no big secret, but it’s easier to maintain an ignorant bliss when performers don’t miss their cues.

…And So Does Rita Ora

Scotty McCreery may have missed his cue, but he at least recovered quickly. Rita Ora screwed up he cue so badly the cameras cut away. Yikes!

When The Barney Balloon Met A Grisly End

This video of the Barney balloon being taken out during the 1997 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade must have traumatized young children everywhere, while secretly their parents were cheering inside because they’re beyond annoyed at that purple dinosaur and his earworm songs.

Kermit the Frog Nearly Loses His Head

Poor Kermie! During the 1991 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Kermit the Frog balloon suffered a large hole to the head after getting caught on some nearby trees and resulted in looking sadly lethargic or how some of us look after sitting through an awkward Thanksgiving family gathering.
