Simone Biles made history during her reign as an Olympic gymnast. Now her older brother is making history, for a very different reason. Yesterday, Tevin Biles-Thompson was arrested and charged with murder. The triple homicide happened at a New Year’s Eve party last year. Some uninvited guests refused to leave, and gunfire ensued. Biles-Thompson, who was serving in the US Army at the time, was linked to the crime. A cheek swab confirmed he was the shooter that fatal night.

Biles didn’t grow up in the same home as her convicted brother. She and her three siblings were separated after going into foster care. Their mother struggled with drug addiction. Here’s the story.
