Puppies Hit A Home Run

New York Mets outfielder JEFF MCNEIL is  one of MLB's leaders in batting.  So he probably didn't need a good luck charm, but now he's got one. An animal shelter in New York brought some puppies down on the field during warmups on Friday.  And it turns out Jeff REALLY likes puppies.

He posed for a photo with one, and said he wanted to adopt it.  But he had to clear it with his wife first.  (Here's the photo.)

Then in the third inning, he hit a three-run homer.  And he gave the PUPPY credit for it after the game. He said he was planning to use it as a bargaining chip to convince his wife Tatiana that the puppy's good luck.  She bought it, because they adopted it the next day.  (Here's a photo of them with the puppy.)

Puppies make everything a little more worth it!
