Paul McCartney is 77 years old. Many people at that age would be well into retirement. But you can't keep this former Beatle down. He just wrapped up his "Freshen Up" tour with great reviews (did you see it? It was awesome), and he's not taking a break. Apparently, Mr. McCartney has been secretly working on a different kind of stage show.

McCartney has been working with Lee Hall, the man behind "Billy Elliott" and "Rocketman", for a stage adaptation of "It's a Wonderful Life". The 1946 classic movie has inspired musical scores for the stage, 10 so far, according to people close to McCartney. Hall has also come to McCartney for lyrics and to work on the new show's books.

It's not something McCartney has ever thought he'd be interested in, but he's all over it. Plans are to open the musical in the UK next year, with a Broadway run to follow.
