Recently, the CDC came out with some surprising news about Colonel Sanders best friend!

This weekend, the CDC urged people NOT to wash their chicken before cooking it.

It reported that juices from the raw chicken can contaminate other foods and utensils during washing, according to the CDC.

Raw chickens are often contaminated with campylobacter bacteria and sometimes other harmful bacteria, according to the CDC.

The news from the CDC was a surprise for many, sparking a HUGE debate on whether or not washing raw chicken is a good idea.

The CDC recommends cooking raw chicken as an alternative from washing. Cooking chicken thoroughly can kill any bacteria that's possibly on the raw chicken, according to the CDC.

Whether or not people actually take the CDC's advice is an entirely different conversation!
