Adam Sandler closed out his first time hosting Saturday Night Live with a surprising and sweet tribute to his late friend and fellow SNL alum Chris Farley.

Sandler appeared on the famous Studio 8H stage with his acoustic guitar during the show’s final segment before the credits and proceeded to launch into the first verse of an original song.

“First time I saw him he was sweeter than honey
Plaid jacket and belt too tight
He wasn’t even being funny
Then he cartwheeled around the room and slow-danced with the cleaning lady
He was a one-man party
You know I’m talking about, I’m talking about my friend Chris Farley”

Current SNL cast member Leslie Jones shot some of the performance and shared it via her Instagram along with the caption, “Not. A. Dry. Eye. In. The. House…” That sentiment was likely the same for fans watching at home, too.
