Sounds like Joe Perry spilled the beans on the big announcement Aerosmith had planned for their appearance next week on NBC’s Today.

In an interview with SiriusXM’s Beatles Channel “Fab Fourum” program (transcribed by Best Classic Bands), Perry revealed the “Bad Boys from Boston” will be celebrating their 50th anniversary with a residency in Las Vegas.

“We’re going to be doing a residency in Vegas starting next spring,” said Perry.  “What we want to do is something that I haven’t seen before… just downsizing our live show, just playing in a smaller place. We want to do something different. We’re in the middle of the production now. What we’re talking about is having an experience that you wouldn’t be able to see on a regular Aerosmith tour.”

Aerosmith’s August 15 appearance on Today will lay out further details on their Las Vegas residency.
