It's been a long time coming. "Electric Avenue" singer, Eddy Grant, released a new album this year, 11 years after his last release. Named "Plaisance" for Grant's hometown village in Guyana, the album is being met with pretty decent reviews. The 14-track album is a healthy mix of thought-provoking tracks and up-tempo tunes. Grant says the music style ranges, since he can pretty much do what he wants on the album. A benefit to being on an independent record label.

One of Grant's new singles, I'm The One, is unmistakably reggae. What do you think?

Plaisance is available for purchase now.
