Jim Tofte Bio
Jim Tofte has been on the air in Las Vegas for the past 18 years. Before
that, Jim worked in Kansas City, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Milwaukee.
While at KKLZ, Jim and his other co-hosts have received the 'Best Morning
Show' award from Women in Communications.
Jim originated the 'Pay-for Play' concept at KKLZ that helped raise over
$100,000 from the Women in Communications.
Jim organized the 'Hardrock Hurricane Relief" event that raised $20,000 in
just four hours!
What would I be doing if I weren't at 96.3 KKLZ?
I'm quite good at making meatloaf...(I'm not sure what that means either...I
hate these questions!)
Funniest radio story:
The news person I was co-hosting a show with in Kansas City fainted while
doing the newscast...rather than call 911 right away, I made sure the next
record got on the air! My boss was very happy, and the newscaster lived!
Something people might not know about me:
I like to macramé the heads of state...it's quite relaxing...painful for
Halle Berry...(she's quite talented in many areas!)
Tombstone, That Thing You Do!, Diner, 3 Days of the Condor
Favorite book I recently read:
'ROME' ...it's all about the 1960 Rome Olympics
Favorite KKLZ song:
Anything by the Beach Boys or The Beatles.
Favorite sports teams:
I grew up in Wisconsin, so I'm a die-hard Packers and Brewers fan...here in
Las Vegas I love going to Rebel Basketball games and Wrangler games.
My wife and I love BJ's Brewery!
Favorite fast food:
Got to be In-N-Out Burger!
Favorite subject in school:
I was actually an architecture major in college, before I took a hard left
turn into broadcast journalism.
Spending time with my family...playing sports...watching sports, movies,
listening to music and enjoying the great Vegas weather.
